Guest Students

We make it easy to be a guest student at OU — regardless of which university you attend now. Check out our schedule of classes to help you knock out a required course during the summer or to just get ahead in your studies.

To be considered for guest admission, a transcript (official or unofficial) from the student's home institution must be submitted showing a cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or higher. A letter from the student's home institution's Registrar certifying enrollment, good standing, and a 2.0 or higher GPA may be used in lieu of a transcript. Please note that Guest Students are assessed upper-division tuition rates. You may find our current tuition rates here.

Steps to Apply

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Submit a transcript (official or unofficial) from your home institution. You can email your transcript to [email protected], or mail it to:

    Undergraduate Admissions
    Wilson Hall, Room 2000
    371 Wilson Blvd.
    Rochester, MI 48309-4454

Please allow a minimum of five business days for Oakland University to process your Guest Application. Guest status is valid for one semester only. If you wish to attend more than one semester, a new application must be filed for each semester.

Transferring Credit

Guest students receive academic advising from their home institution and are responsible for requesting that a transcript of grades be sent to the home institution after courses are completed.  See how your credits will transfer  from OU or other four-year institutions.
